Does your computer need a tune-up? -GIVEAWAY!
Tuesday, December 2, 2008 14:40If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Unless it’s brand new out of the box, it probably does. With so many spyware, virii and various other malicious attacks that our computers combat on a daily basis, it would be a small miracle if your computer was able to stay safe through it all. Then add in your internet browsing, podcast listening, game playing and you have a veritable mess. It’s a crash just waiting to happen.
Norton by Symantec has created one elegant solution. Norton Premium Services allows Norton experts to connect with you one-on-one, listen to the problems your encountering, and then directly access your computer via the Internet so they can run diagnostic tests and fix the problems while you sit back and watch. In addition to making your PC run like new, they can also help with killing viruses, eliminating spyware, and installing Norton software, just to name a few.
You do all of this without your computer having to be unplugged, carried to the car, carried into the computer store – fixed by them (sometimes) – then carried back to the car, back into the house, re-plugging everything back in, and keeping your fingers crossed that nothing happened to it in the meantime.
Because you stay on the phone with them the whole time, they can also explain AND show you how to do some preventative maintenance on your computer so that you can keep it running smoothly. The technician will show you how to do things – not just do things for you, nor talk over your head. This is all done for you through the internet connection – and all for just $69.99. (It would also make a great gift for someone!)
and guess what!?
I have THREE free Norton PC Tune-Up Services to give away! All you have to do is leave a comment telling me the problems you’re having with your computer.
As always, if you would like an extra entry, blog about my giveaway.

My pc needs a tune-up–desperately! Not only does it sound like a single engine aircraft when it is running, it is slow and probably bogged down with things I can’t figure out how to remove. I would love the Norton Tune-up. Thank you!

Boy, howdy, do I need a tune-up. My computer crashed this summer, and once we got it back up and running, it’s just sort of limping along. I earn my living with the computer, but can’t afford to buy a new computer right now, so I need help!
Thanks!

I would love to win this tune-up, as I am quite disappointed with Norton right now. This would make up for the disappointing service that I received recently…which I am still working at resolving. This would be an added bonus! Thanx for the entry!

I think my computer needs a tuneup worse than any one else’s that I know of! A few months ago, I switched internet providers and went with a little known company that supposedly offered hi-speed internet at a much lower price than I had been paying. My computer, which is relatively new, suddenly pulled in myriad viruses from this service and finally crashed completely. Their tech support offered no help and blamed my computer. Finally, they actually suggested that I call a well-known retailer (who had nothing whatsoever to do with my computer) and ask if THEIR tech support could help me! Talk about passing the buck! Not having the money available to put the comp in the shop, we then hooked up my son’s computer and it was fine for a couple of days. Then the same thing happened with his! Called again, same story! Finally, my son pulled my computer down, cleaned the hard-drive, and did a complete reinstallation on it. It now runs part of the time, with a lot of problems, but at least I can spend a (very) little time online. With our old service, we had been online for many years and never had any problems with any of our computers! Now, this company has went to an all-automated phone system, and I can’t even find a way to dicontinue my service with them; we have to pay the bill because our telephone is also through them. My husband has recently had a stroke, so we have to have a phone in case he gets sick. I feel about as ready to crash as my computer! If I won this package, maybe it would help, at least until I can figure out what else to do. Thank you for having the patience to listen to my rant and for the contest.

my problems are numerous with my desktop. the most aggrivating one is that it runs slow as molasses. there are times i want to throw it out the window. i have no patience anymore. i can’t afford to take it to get it fixed, get a software program to get it fixed and/or can’t afford to buy a new one. i have it shut off and go to the library and use one of theirs.

The problem I have- is my teenagers see bright lights & flashing things saying, “click here” so they do. How was I supposed to know the ONE thing they were told to do AND actually do, is the ONE thing that will add viruses, open me to hackers & basically put our life out of business. However, I now understand if I expect my teen to do what I want- I just need to put up something that flashes online with the instruction!

We just installed the max amount of memory that is possible on our computer, and we still have problems. It seems like the flash on many websites causes problems. Our desktop still freezes and locks up, and we have to do a hard shutdown. It gets really old when you are trying to do work on the computer and it freezes up. I think everyone has these problems! Is it just me or does it take an eternity for webpages to load? I don’t know if it’s because of programs I’ve downloaded or because of the periodic Microsoft updates, but my computer seems to get slower and slower every month. Perhaps this is all a conspiracy–keep increasing the demands of the programs and soon you will have to buy a new computer.
